Hell, make that weekend.
Today I got to hang out with my parents, my dad and I did MANLY MAN-THINGS like cutting brush and hauling trees while my mom gardened, then I got to go cook them a pretty bomb-ass dinner, called up my best friend and had a cigar at sunset while we walked the train tracks like the old days… Then I got to go see The Avengers in 3D with my brother (my nerd boner is still at full mast). I got to see everyone I wanted to today… well almost everyone ;)
On top of all that, I’m excited about school, and making a fucking insane senior film next year.
These are the days that make life worth living.
I’m cooking my Mom her Mother’s day dinner, and realized I didn’t have any vegetable base for the mashed cauliflower I was going to make (on top of some grilled salmon, asparagus, vidalias and bell peppers)…
so I used chicken broth…

OH GOD I’M A TERRIBLE PERSON, DON’T TELL.

6 years, can’t even read music anymore.
I want to score my senior film, so I need to pick it up again ASAP

i just did a cool thing that i think would be useful if you’re like me and sometimes have a hard time picking colours / a colour scheme for an image
basically i just took a brush with moderate spacing, turned on colour dynamics and set all the hue/sat/brightness to a low (~10%-30%) jitter, picked a base colour, and drew a line down the side of the canvas
it’s sort of like when some people save colour swatches so they can keep their shading consistent, but more for playing around with different tones and lighting on a single surface. it’ll probably be pretty good for skin which is very multi-tonal by nature.
a lot of colours came out that i probably wouldn’t have picked manually, but they still looked pretty cool. and it saves a lot of time because now i have a broad range of colours without having to browse through my pantone swatches or open up the colour picker.
Oh, darling, you will be good to me, won’t you? Because we’re going to have a strange life.Ernest Hemingway, A Farewell to Arms (via captain-indie)

Priscila Vertamatti - Demo Reel
This is a friend of mine’s reel. The non-Disney intern clips got her the Disney internship last summer, and this reel, as it is, just got her into the Pixar internship, so it’s a very good example what you should be doing for your reel. Priscila is awesome and was one of the first people I met in college, and I’m so excited for her concerning Pixar; if anyone deserves it, she does.
Holy balls, I need to step up my game…
